Through serving we glorify God, build up the church body and reach out to others. Here at TBC we believe that service is absolutely necessary - the church body needs everybody's help! As Christians, we are directed to serve (I Pt. 4:10) and this is one of the ways we worship God (I Pt. 4:11, Rom 12:1).
When each of us does our part and uses our God-given gifts, we help to build up the local church and the larger Christian community (Eph. 4:12, Eph. 4:16). We want to help you be fruitful and fulfilled in a meaningful place of service. Our desire is that every Christian at TBC engage in the work of Christ according to the gifts and passions given them by the Holy Spirit.
There are several duties and responsibilities that you may participate in if you want to commit to serving on this team. Most actions are completed on Sunday mornings, but some can be completed during the week.
Did you ever wonder WHO keeps the church looking so clean and shiny? Volunteers, that’s who!! Join one of six teams that rotate every six weeks to clean the church from top to bottom. Some teams clean on Friday nights and others clean on Saturday mornings – you can choose which option suits your schedule best.
You can be part of an important team that makes that “first impression” upon people as they join us on Sunday mornings! •Greet and welcome people at the front doors of the building as well as inside the sanctuary doors •Make sure first time guests have checked in at our Welcome Desk and received their gift bag •Advise families where to check-in their children for Kids Church •Assist with tithe/offering collection •Listen/watch for disruptive children in the sanctuary and quietly ask parents to move them into one of two of our Cry Rooms where they can continue to see and hear the message •Stand by exit doors and thank people for coming to service
There are many events and activities that happen here at The Blended Church throughout the year - Bingo night, Chili Cook-Off, Valentine Dance, Family Movie Night, and so much more. If you want to volunteer once or at every event, we would love to have you sign up!
Sunday mornings – assist at the Events Table to help people sign up for an upcoming event
Event Helpers – assist with concessions, video/photography, games, fun, booths, etc.
Assist with setup or tear down for large church meetings or conferences
Assemble JOURNEY booklets, set up tables, serve snacks and beverages
Set up tables and chairs for various functions/events
This ministry will COLLECT items of new or gently used clothing and shoes as well as canned/boxed food items from our Blended Church families who are doing closet cleaning and extra shopping. Other TBC ministries will then re-distribute them to families in need within the community (e.g. Brown Bag Ministry, Broken Chains Prison Ministry, IPS Adopt-A-School, etc.). There are two ways to serve: SUNDAY MORNINGS – assist with unloading donations from vehicles (before 1st service and after 2nd service) TUESDAY NIGHTS – assist with sorting, sizing, folding and stacking of donated clothes and sorting food items (5:00pm – 6:00pm)
Another wonderful ministry you can serve within no matter what your schedule – most are done either during the day or early evening throughout the week. We provide all the tools you will need – we are looking for some hands and feet that will do the work! Here are some ways you can help make our church grounds look neat and presentable: • Mowing grass • Trimming hedges and bushes • Pulling weeds from mulch beds • Planting and watering flowers • Edging and weed-eating • Picking up litter • Playground upkeep
Sunday mornings we have many guests that need a few questions answered – you could be the key to helping them find the answers.
Volunteers love to show love and support for other families within The Blended Church by providing meals during a time of need. There are many variations to cooking/baking a meal for a single person or an entire family – be creative! **cook a breakfast or dinner casserole for a family with a loved one in the hospital. **take a full course meal or two to someone who just got discharged from the HOSPITAL. **purchase a meal & deliver it to a family who welcomed a newborn home. **create a healthy lunch/dinner combo for someone who had SURGERY.
Hearing and seeing a great message is important on Sunday morning! If you have an interest in volunteering to help make the sound and video experience the best, here are some thing you can expect to learn to do: *work with pastors to input scripture for service *present scripture and song lyrics to congregation clearly and timely on all projection screens *create visuals of the service by directing cameras with the production setup from the booth *send our message online through our streaming service *set up the proper atmosphere with lighting effects
At Awakening Youth we are focusing on our 12-18 year olds to make sure we awaken a generation that understands now only what we believe in but why they believe it. Our Bible based messages will help to see how the truths of God’s Word apply to every area of a teen’s life – every day of the week.
